1st Gear jumping out

Pulled the inner housing on the trans and found first gear bush has worked is way outward, and machined it's way into the layshaft bush
in the kicker. I have already converted to roller layshaft 9000 miles ago. The end float felt normal at 5 thou, but I suspect this measurement
was corrupted due the bush grinding into layshaft end bush. Anyone else had this?
Wonder what would so much pressure on 1st gear bush to move?
