Having just mounted the half built engine in the frame I had doubts about the spacers on the main bolts (front and underneath).
I did it as per manual, looking forward large spacer left on the front bolt and small on the right and underneath small spacer left and long one right.

Could somebody have a glance at theirs and let me know if the positioning is correct.

According to my copy of the factory manual, Section B1 and how the spacers are fitted on my T140 both wide spacers go on the right/timing side:

"Remove the bottom and front engine mounting studs. Note the assembly of distance pieces on both these studs. The wider distance pieces fit on the right side of the machine in each case and the narrow ones on the opposite side."

Note that the parts books normally show the front spacers drawn incorrectly.

Thank you L.A.B your information was helpful, I had the front mount back to front. Like they say read the manual but that wasn't easy when clutching the lump o_O

When putting together a OIF I mock up the engine cases in the frame....With the rear wheel in the correct position, line up on centers with the front wheel that is center on the steering stem. The rear axle parallel to the swing arm axle....I check the engine is parallel and lines up to the rear wheel sprocket...I have found what should be isn't always so with the factory made spacers...

I discovered that two spacers, while not rattle loose, do spin on their bolts; that is, they are not clamped when the cross bolts are tight
