Hello all I just bought a 1971 Norton Commando and when checking the wires we tested with a meter and found out the frame is hot which makes me not want to ride my bike in the rain due to being worried about getting shocked. Any ideas of what the issue might be? I am new to Nortons but I am pretty sure the frame should not be hot. I live in NH if anyone is close and willing to help out. Thank you.

What I think you are saying is that the frame is registering as the positive side of the electrical system on your meter?

If so, then it is normal, as the standard Commando electrical system is positive ground (or positive earth) and the battery positive terminal (+) is the one normally connected to the frame.

Don't worry, a positive ground electrical system does not mean the frame is "hot". In a positive ground system, negative is the hot side.
