I am considering the sale of my 1970 S2. Its all original, never restored, it has plenty of patina . The engine has been rebuilt from the ground up. Many items serviced with factory correct parts. One of the last 20 brought into the states before F Clymer died . Midwest USA, $12500.

Back up just enough to get the whole bike in the photo without cropping off the ends.

Sure would make for much nicer photos...

(The bike is a beaut!)

It's a beautiful bike Jim
Out of interest how does it compare performance wise to a 750 commando?
A mate of mine is a royal Enfield nutcase
He has several intercepters but none of them run and he is always telling me that they would eat my 750 commando!!

I used to have two Enfield Interceptors: a 1969 and 1970. I had a 750 and 850 Commando at the same time.
As I recall (it was some time ago), the Enfield had a little more bottom end grunt. But the Commandos had better mid range and revved much higher and faster. Overall, both Commandos were faster with a more usable power curve. The Albion gearbox on the Royal Enfield didn't like rapid shifting or it crunched, which didn't help in the acceleration department. The RE riding position was very much sit upright, pegs forward. The bike never felt right stuffing it hard into corners. The pegs dragged at low angles of lean. The cool and unusual factor was huge: a tiny chrome tank sitting on top of that massive lump of an engine. But I much preferred riding the Commandos and sold both Enfields.

From ADVrider olds cool flea market:
I have a 75 MKIII 850 to trade for an Ariel MKII Square four or a Royal Enfield Interceptor MKII.
The 850 has a fresh top end >040" over, new valves, guides, ground seats,

4 pole starter, new sprague gear assembly, New tires, chain, sprockets, Pazon Ignition, coils, yada yada. Maybe 10 miles on the build. More details available.

Paint is good, rebuilt forks, new springs, new Hagons, wheel bearings. New front master cylinder and Nissin four pot caliper with new front disc and pads.

Rebuilt rear master, brake line, and pads. Upgraded starter wiring mod. Old spares can be included.

Pete
