I recently purchased a 1970 Lightning, I took delivery yesterday. The machine is fitted with US bars, almost buckhorns. I am going to fit it with Eurobars and have been having some difficulty finding appropriate cables in the correct length; I haven't done a lot of digging yet, I know that they are out there, but it would save me a lot of time if someone reading this could point me to a source.

Oddly Triumph throttle cables of the same year are different, so is the front brake cable and, certainly, the clutch cable. If necessary I can have Barnett make them for me, I'm one of their dealers. If so, it is less expensive to make several (per each), so are there any members out there that would be interested in full sets of new cables for Eurobars?

You might try Barnett, they make clutch parts and cables for the old British bikes. Look em up, they're on the net.

I have had good luck dealing with walridge dot com. He specializes in Matchless/AJS/Norton hybrids but has a lot of other stuff. Some where in the Norton Commando forum there is a thread with many highly regarded vendors.

Jackson5: Rocky Point Cycle is a Barnett dealer. Having them make me, yet, another set of custom cables is the absolute best solution, just a bit pricey.

oldbeezer: Thanks, I did the digging and found what I needed off the shelf.

I found the rest of the missing parts at various places, Baxter Cycle (expensive) was the best source, although I used several vendors. The Lightening now has all the parts it was delivered with from the factory and is now #3 in line for a complete going-over; I plan to start with the timing side Alpha bearing conversion and end with period correct paint work.
