I own a 1968 Norton Commando that was changed by the previous owner into something vey similiar to a Production Racer. That person started from scratch and completly re-wired the bike, but without an ammeter. I am trying to wire one in and need some guidance. I’ve uploaded a file of the existing partial wiring diagram. Just a note that he wired it so that the battery is negative earth. So the question is what wires go to the ammeter and from were. Thanks in advance

Just a note that he wired it so that the battery is negative earth.

Your diagram shows the voltage regulator black negative wire connected to the capacitor (polarity?) and battery positive (via the fuse) so not correct. I don't know why the Boyer has been drawn in that position.

The regulator positive (red?) should be connected between the ammeter and the ignition switch and black to battery negative.
