Just brought an early 68' Fastback that looks very genuine.

The oil tank is currently chromed and I guess it should be silver (I am presuming that the oil tank was the RH side panel on these models) - can anybody tell me what colour silver to use?

Also the front Isolastic holder is chromed and part of the engine cradle - I presume that these should all be black?

Thanks again for the help

Jamie

I believe the color for the sidepanel and oil tank is "Quicksilver" and the oil tank is the on the right side. Yes, the iso's and engine cradle should be black.

If you post some pictures of what you have you will get some advice and some oppinions on whats original and not. A couple of the guys just finished '68 and early '70 commando's.

Easier to keep cleaned , chromed , seeing its done .Harder to see the dirt with a Black Cradle. And we'll have NO dirt . :D :P
Not bad performance for something thats been around near half a centurie now .Wouldnt be to fussed with ' a few ' mods ,
unless there 6 ft over forks & a banana seat  , pays to take yr time getting aquanted , and find what the motorcycle thinks. You have to learn to talk to it first , be quite and listen . But dont let the neigbours see , theyll get suspicious . 8)

Ain't that the truth! You have to talk to the bike and sweet talk it at that if you want a good time . . .
