Selling my 1963 Norton Atlas clear title (Titled at a 65). I bought this two summers ago from a local man . (He bought it as part of a "bundle deal" with a Norton Commando.) I thought I wanted another Atlas project but I just don't have time. I was going to have it ready for Spring 2017...didn't happen. Now it's Spring 2018 and I need to move it. Can be very easily returned to stock with minimal effort or modified to be a one of a kind cafe racer. These are getting rarer by the day. Featherbed frames alone are selling upwards of $1000.

This is a very nice example of a 1963 Norton Atlas. The bike was completely rebuilt by the previous owner in Chicago a few years ago. The motor still has not even really been broken in! Only about 30 miles on it since the rebuild. Started easily and ran great thanks to the rebuilt Lucas Competition K2FC Magneto but I haven't started it since I parked it as the tank was in paint for a long time. It has newly laced Excel shouldered alloy rims with stainless spokes. Tires are in great shape. Avon RoadRider on the rear Metzler on the front. Single leading shoe front brake does work well. New clutch, new Wassel rotor.

The Norman Hyde M Bars give the bike a nice aggressive stance without the discomfort of clipons. The electrics were also redone by the previous owner as was the gear box. Gauges all work however the speedometer lens has a crack in it. (Replacement glass kit included.) Tachometer is correct from new old stock and was installed by me. All new cables. Alloy Commando gauge brackets/cups.

The Fuel Tank was stripped inside and out. It will need to get another coat of Redkote sealer before its filled up. I coated it before I had it painted but with all the dent removal (welding rods were tacked on and dents pulled out -not filled in). It should get another coat. It was resprayed in several layers of deep black and multiple coats of clear. No decals so you can add what you want. I do have a set of Pender's reproduction Atlas Tank Badges that I can throw in with the sale. Unfortunately my paint guy filled in the mounting holes for the badges so I don't want to mess with it. The fenders are alloy. There is a ding in the top of the front fender. Headlight is a genuine Lucas bucket but not correct. All in all it's a great bike.

$6900 or best offer. Pics to come soon. (I have to move several bikes out of the way to roll it of the lift table.) If I get time to do the little things on this bike, I will be listing elsewhere for more $. Thanks guys!

I have no idea why it's titled as a 65. Maybe it was originally sold & titled in 65? Everything matches though Engine VIN, Frame, Title. Thanks for asking.

Why is not the frame number stamp perfect? It is only the paint that cover the number?
The project cafe racer is start by you or the precedent proprietary?

The frame numbers match, they are just painted over. It's has been stripped at least once in its lifetime by the previous owner and probably multiple coats of paint. The bike was completely redone by the previous owner. (Engine, gearbox, the works). All I did was get the fuel tank stripped inside and out and repainted professionally. (I did put the Norman Hyde handlebars on it.) It's been sitting for a few years and as I mentioned, I had grand plans for it, but I don't have time and need the $ now. The Lucas Competition Magneto is worth $800-1000 alone. Thanks for looking.

Unfortunately I live in Italy because I would have made an offer for buy the motorcycle. I don't know the shipping cost and the taxation in Italy (probably 6% on the price of sale).

Thanks. I have no idea how much it would cost to ship. My buddy here in the USA sold a Commando to someone in England last year. Apparently it wasn't a big deal to ship and reasonably priced.

Interested that a Lucas competition magneto costs $800 to $1000. Bernard asked if I had ne a couple of years ago. The other day I was ratting through my shed and actually found one which probably needs reconditioning.
