4/9/19 (day 100 of 2019) We had quite a nice ride, albeit warm.

Me (62) + the '70 Triumph Bonneville (49) = 111 Years total.
My friend Marvin was on his '07 HD Sportster, so just riding along for fun, but managed 100+100+100

11:20 Kickstands up at the gas station near my house in Laredo. Temp in the low/mid 90s.

Ride was going according to plan until the East side of Bruni, TX where Highway 359 was cut down (literally) to one lane with escort. There goes the 1 minute per mile average for this ride. It was only a couple of miles, but lots of trucks and people who had no clue how to follow an escort vehicle. Anyway...

Arrived at the Burger Barn at 12:30 and ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and a sweet tea and cooled off a bit (upper 90s by now). Mileage = 56.8

If you started to drool, sorry, no photo (I don't often photograph my food)
Enjoyed a leisurely lunch, then gassed back up and rolled off at 1:18.

Had to pull over to fetch a mirror that broke it's clamp mount, and waited nearly 15 minutes for the escort vehicle to blow past and the return escort to lead us away thru the construction zone. Put a serious dent in our road time, and it was 100 degrees by then.

That's known as exterior lubrication to cut down on wind resistance. You've been doing some good riding.
I'm going to replace my aging coils... Beginning to cut out at 4k and have to slow for a bit to allow cooling. I'm building up for the road and this should be about the final bug in the bed. Anyway I'm jealous of that fine cruise.

This was just a lunch run. I hope to do a SaddleSore 1,000 this year, on my '75 Norton Interstate.

I've not had a really good ride since taking my wing to Seattle in '91. 2604 mi. in 4 days in the middle of August. Straight out I-35/I-10/I/5. The desert almost killed me. High temp was 115 & Cali gas almost beat my valves out.
I'd consider 100-120 per day great for me and my Norton these days. Could do 2-3 times that when I got it, but we've both aged.
