I went to a bike show today as a fundraiser for a local VA hospital and there were over a hundred bikes there and 1 non Harley (my 1974 Commando...Happy to say my Commando won 2nd overall..Guessing the sight of a different brand among a Sea of Harleys was refreshing for judges..Yay for my daily rider

A Harley probably does not evoke the same emotional response as a well-turned out Norton Commando. I feel like that about Thruxton Velocettes, however I would never own one.

At 75 years old actreo you are too old to own one let alone ride one-motorcycling is a young man’s pastime :!:

It is a very strange thing, but as I've become older, I have become more competent as a rider. My problems are that my attention to detail has suffered and I am much poorer. If I take my bike to a practice day, I end up tripping over my own feet , when I was younger it was all much easier. But when I am actually on the bike, all is lovely. These days I never go anywhere near crashing and I am riding much faster. It is all in the mind - a good bike makes a good rider.
