OK guys, what are your collective learned recommendations for other epic US road trips, perhaps even venturing north of the border into the Comonwealth?

Hit me...

Very informative write up on your Rt66 ride .... glad you had a great experience .... if you were amazed at the vacant spaces , I would suggest riding Canada coast to coast including the north of Superior area ..... I did it last spring on my ‘07 Ducati ST3s solo and had a great ride .... 6500kms one way ,our Country is a spectacle to experience on 2 wheels .... you can follow the Trans Canada Highway or in most cases chose to ride a secondary road that mirrors the TCH and in all cases is way more entertaining , took me 15 sleeps with 3 days of no riding .....

The very first trip that comes to mind is the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Dr. It goes from northern Georgia to just south of D.C. running along the Blue Ridge mountains. It can be done in one looooong day or a leisurely 2 - 3 days. Or longer adding side trips. I don't think there is an official route but ridding along/parallel to the continental divide from Canada to Mexico. CanAm highway Seattle to the arctic circle. If/when you plan to come back to the US post something first, I am sure someone here would be glad to meet up with you. If you ever do the Blue Ridge Parkway let me know. The southern part is about 2 hours from my house I'll meet up with you and by you a beer.

That’s a kind offer Jim, actually, I was supposed to meet up with two guys from the forum that I didn’t manage due to my own fault and with one who was away on the very two days that we were in his neighborhood.

I’ll try harder next time for sure !

HI Eddie, i'd recommend planning a trip around an INOA rally. Have been to a couple - Buffalo Wyoming and Catskills (NY) and both the rallys and the trips were fantastic. Pick somewhere far enough away from the rally to make a good ride. Denver for us for Wyoming - then into the Rockies before heading Nth. Wyoming isn't classic motorcycling country - a long way between bends but it is just a glorious place if you like to get away from things. And Mt Evans is a good ride, and Beartooth Pass is to be recommended, and Yellowstone, and .... just do it. : )

Try riding the divide along the Rockies. Start out around Columbus NM and point it north ending up at Glacier or for that matter on up to Lake Louise BC. Mostly 2 lanes and the Rockies won't disappoint.

Just to clarify Lake Louise is in fact located in the Province of Alberta , ( part of Banff National Park ) which is to the right, or east of British Columbia on the map .... no harm done, I get confused with the 50 States just south of where I live and the place names and distinctions in the UK and Europe simply confound me ....
