I’m appealing to the vast knowledge base of the forum: anyone know what the thread is for the fork slider top cap? I’ve got a slider with buggered threads that I was hoping to chase and clean up. Trying not to spend $200-$300 on a new one if I can help it.

I got it to be 20 TPI so cycle thread, at an OD of 1.93" so possibly 1 15/16". A 1/4 UNC tap could be used to chase the thread held in the hand or a thread file with 20 TPI.

I heard back from Simon at AN, who confirmed that it is 1.15/16” UNF 20 tpi

Cycle vs UNF are both 60 degree angle so doubt the factory changed tooling when it changed from cycle to UNF, an easy one for them to tick off in the changeover from cycle to UNF/UNC.

i'm still trying to figure out 'fork slider top cap' ..

sounds like there is a tap for it tho..

Could you use an old top slider collar cut a couple of slots in it and use it for a tap?
