£18k… why…?

Whilst I admire the sellers optimism, I’ve no idea why they think it’s worth anything close to £18k ?!

Maybe typo? Meant 1800 or 8000!

The last 69S I sold with all proper parts and looking brand new went for about 8100 GBP. Of course it had a new wiring harness, Tri-Spark, Tri-Spark MOSFET, new exhaust, rebuilt instruments, rebuilt engine, new spokes/rims/tires, etc.

"Heavy Duty" electric starter connected thru the cam drive - I believe I've read more than one report that driving that much torque thru that system is a recipe for disaster...

(I COULD BE WRONG)

I've never seen so may padlocks and chains , disc lock, U bolt padlock , he is clearly worried about someone stealing it .

Working the sale for all he can get....I don't see any serious downside to that, its easy enough to lower the price if he does not see any activity on his offer.
Richard T. made a good observation, some "gotta' have that specific Norton" fanatic (maybe for a collection?) just might pay that for what the bike is claimed to be.
"Super rare". Well, OK, but opinions, like resale values, vary.
All original. Is the Estart factory original?
He is asking 18 as a start point/price, let the negotiations begin.

If this was a bare frame ground up restoration that you could hit the starter and then hit 100 mph safely I could understand his asking price as a start point for negotiations. Maybe he equates the "as is" or stated original condition to be the equivalent value of a high end restoration?

He's got great feedback and has been in the Fleabay game for 20+ years.
I wish all the best success to the guy, hope he hits his number.

GP, I knew the Estart wasn't original, that came about in 75' I believe, meant as a sarcastic comment on sellers claims.;)

Odd banging in the video, one cylinder misfiring?
I didn't watch the video before. It really does not sound good, the idle is very fast, and at least one cylinder is having a problem. Wasn't sure about that until he blipped the throttle. Also, quite a bit of rocker noise - may just need adjusting.

the other odd thing is that is is described as 'motorcycle' which is a hit vague. Searching for 'Norton' or 'Commando' probably wouldn't find it. There are a couple of Commando basket case / projects on there at the moment. Must resist temptation
