These guys make Charlie and Ewen look sane.

Up the Continental Divide on... BSAs
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

Well, where were they going on those 441 Victors? Anything more than about 100 miles shows an alarming lack of foresight!

More miles than the average 441 should. Some 2800 miles. On dirt and gravel. Brave lads.

Sounds like fun to me, just make sure you are running points and have a 2MC capacitor; forget about electronics and batteries!

Fed Ex and UPS make getting parts much easier now. I never rode the Victor, just the little 250 a friend had in college. He used that for transportation and although it required a fair bit of work, never blew anything big. I'd think comfort would be out of the equasion, more power to them and relaible thumping.

You ought to see the Singles guys WAY OUT IN THE DESERT on thier annual "Big Bend" (Texas State Park) ride. Several hundred miles from ANYTHING. Strapped-on extra range gas cans, etc. are de rigeur.
