To the kind souls ,especially Dave, who have helped me with my dellima Thank You.
Figured out that the harness I had was incorect for my bike. I purchased a new one from British Wiring in Bally,PA.(in stock, around the corner ,great to deal with) and all is well. The one supplied with the bike must be from a newer model as it has a provision for a front stop lamp switch( there is one on the bike, Newer also I suppose) and the afore mentioned condenser pack.
One last question on this topic and then I will put it to bed. Which side of the neck does the harness belong on?
I have a few missing parts and I will list later on the wanted section.

Thanks again. Learning a lot from the fourm. What a great bunch of folks. :)

It looks to me from some old disassmbly pictures I have that the harness went through the big hole in the sort of triangular plate below the rear of the gas tank with a large grommet, and then on along the right side of the lower brace that the coil pack is mounted on. The ignition stuff breaks out and goes to the coil pack and then the harness goes on to the right side of the large tube that holds the forks on and on to inside the lower gasket in the headlamp shell. The harness rubbed a lot of the writing off the ID plate mostly on the right side on mine.

Hope this helps, let me know if you want bad pics.

How much was that new harness if you don't mind, but mine is not bad, just old connectors.

The photo's that DougT Posted are correct for 69/70, the photo that RennieK posted is to suit 71 or later and would have a ballest rezister sitting in front of the condenser pack to work with the 6v coils fitted 71 on, 69-70 had 12v coils and condensers mounted to the coil bracket [no ballest rezister].

There are two small condensers under that rubber cover. They have a threaded stud on the end that goes thru the plate and a spade connector that pokes thru the rubber boot. I can't say as I have ever looked under the tank on a '69. My guess is they are the same and later models had the boot, or you are missing yours?

Edit...I see from the pics now that the mounting does look to be a bit different...but anyway, the rubber boot does have the two condensers under it.

My 69 has the condensers mounted on those little outcroppings off of the coil holders, you can see it in the coil pics. I have no condenser pack.

My '69 is set up the way yours is Dave, (two individual condensers) with no room between nor provision for mounting the pack. The pack I would believe to be later as one is on my '71 TR6R mounted beneath the seat behind the coils.
