WIRING HARNESS ROUTING

Postby RAIN MAN » Sun Jan 31, 2010 7:04 am

Hi, I'm building a 1970 Norton Commando and cant seem to locate a wiring harness routing image or description in any of my manuals. Any pictures or advice would be appreciated.
regards

Welcome to the forum.

Being that the main harness routing hole through the frame webbing is on the right side, the routing is generally right side.

If you run it through and drape it over the main tube up front, the sub-harnesses basically fall into place, with the exception of the section that feeds the rectifier, start capacitor and other stuff in the battery area.

There are several member project build threads that have some close-ups that you can study, you just need to search back.

Thanks grand Paul, I'll go back and search ... On my frame there's a hole in the middle above the air box that the harness fitted through, then I ran it through the top motor mount. Seems very unintrusive there. The rest of it pretty much falls into place. IE the brake wires, the zener diode wires etc.

I've wired my custom bikes througgh the top engine mounts a time or two, it keeps them out of the way alright...
