Vincent V2 clutch question...

Hi Glen,

I have now measured my clutch plates and would be grateful if you could confirm or deny they are the same type / dimensions as you bought from Barnet.

My clutch plates are 5 15/16" OD.

There are 12 locating tabs on each which are 0.54" wide and 1.0" apart.

The friction part of the plates are 0.44" wide / deep

A picture paints a thousand words, so here's some pics:

Nigel, those appear to be the same k900 plates.

These are the old Barnett I removed . These were still holding fine but had worn thin after 55,000 miles. I don't think they were Kevlar like the replacements are. Nonetheless, they did very well.

Same 5 15/16" OD .

And here

About 20 thou less meat here, however this dimension is non critical within a considerable range. Likely this is just the difference between one manufacturer and another. The new plates may have been a bit wider as yours are, can't recall for sure.
