Two tedius tasks

Postby hobot » Sat Jul 17, 2010 10:21 pm

I'd forgot about this little detail to remove or try screw in while fitting barrel.
Depends on how stuck on the SS nut is compared to how stuck on the removing
nut are, which may end up having to cut off to retrieve the nuts, ugh.

Another bind i mis-guessed, where best to tap into frame for oil return.
I'd assumed normal oil filter and had different plan to mount air station.

The check valve adapter [not in photo]
Image
needs to go in about the same hole as
the brass hose barb, which must be removed and hole opened up to -6AN
plus moved to rear a bit and re-angled more square to frame tubes,
while not getting much swarf in the frame. Disc grinder, hand drill
and chain saw file should get er done and ready for cold weld
Al to steel.
Check valve is black cone shape with chopped off ORB6 hydraulic adapter
screwed and held to frame by disc magnet for mock up help.
Oil filter still in shipping plastic but with Al tape to compact it while
fitting fumbling. I lucked out that I could find compact elbows for
the filter ends as just exactly fits between frame rails maybe 1/16"
clearance.

Hobot, mate, you really ought to do one master project thread for Peel.

I have to scour 18 strangely titled threads to piece your bloody story together!

I guess that's how your mind works, as well...

Either you are not married or your wife's name is rapidly rising up the pope's list for sainthood.

^^^^^^ :D
I can relate to what you are doing, I almost went down a similar path, and so enjoy reading the posts, but one build thread would help me quicker access the distraction.

Yes, both Hobot the man and his magnificent obsession are fascinating.

So how about it, Steve?

Care to tell us a little about yourself?

Retired, married with children, an insane loner, other bikes, ect?

Ugh, I'd love to review Ms Peel in one go but who'd believe it but me
and the bikers Peel spanked the pants off till the opens, where 900's
and above could out horsepower us after 100 mph. Ok 90's if
I didn't care to wrap much out over red line in 2nd.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The ONLY THING THAT MAKE'S MS PEEL SPECIAL TO ME AND WORHTWHILE
IS THE REAR RODDAGE WITH A FRONT LINK FOR WATT'S LIKE CONTROL.
************************************************************************************
Peel is basically a short shifting long legged heavy 300 mile range cargo road sofa that most likes to play flat tracker and trials bike games for some excitement over the boredom of leaving road bikes 2 to 3 handling styles faster behind in curvy sections, plus easy on the eyes with no end to hound dog head cocking looking at details, features and weapons systems for squids and deer,
while being lighter to drag, push or load up to spend more on and fix again.
Ok maybe to some more a Latino low rider + sound system party animal,
that's allowed in the house by my 'SO' as part of the family : )

Demo of phase 5 handling tract of fast decreasing radius w/o traction while upright and straight steering. This is main reason for big block blower,
to make any and every surface as loose as THE Gravel hooked up
like water skier on edges pulled by a rope to the center.
Surface leafy sod floated on layer of quicksand like mud d/t water
flowing up from underneath. I could not have handled the spin out
w/o a few prior knockings off stem stops, so just gave up on em.
[2 Nortons, 1 Suzuki, no stinking stem stops left among any of em]

Dirty Slot I turned her into before abusing up to mostly trash.

hobot,

You should consider submitting some of your posts to a literary magazine for publication. Reads almost like Kerouac:

hm thanks I think. About every time I ride something wild-weird happens
to snatch my breath away or squeal in surprise or howl with survival effort.

Looked up your reference to find this:
Although Kerouac’s prose was spontaneous and purportedly without edits, he primarily wrote autobiographical novels based upon actual events from his life and the people with whom he interacted.

He's said to have inspired Hunter S. Thompson of "Red Sausage" fame.
Both had such little to look forward too in world around them and
future to look forward too they ended their own existence. I tried too.

But my soul was saved by psychedelic suicides and Leary and Alpert Swamis.
Now Ms Peel flashbacks entice me to solve unique features to work around.
Just think what might have become of the sensitive writers if Jack had a Combat and Hunter a blown rod linked version!
I know too well moderns don't deliver enough controlled terror to keep
our kind of damaged nervous systems interested long.

Too true. If Thompson had utilized his own Ms. Peel to pump serotonin through his veins, he might have forgone the explosives, fireworks, and guns he used for that purpose instead. Pharmaceuticals are another story.

Had to do a search myself on Richard Alpert and his swami, and found an interesting back story, one that was related to me as factual a long time ago. Hadn't thought about it in years:
