I think the Americans need a POTUS such as Trump to put them in touch with reality. There are plenty who don't even vote.

Sadly (for those with a left thinking perspective), if trump and his insane behavior were to be gone from office, 3+ Years of Pense as president could be just as bad or worse. Trump is an idiot. Pense is a demagogue and a religious zealot. Looking forward to mid term elections in 2018.

The problem is, a lie is a steaming pile of shit and you can't cover it up with another steaming pile and expect nobody to notice.

None of this solves the underlying problem. I see Trump as a reaction of middle America to the consequences neoliberal globalism. Getting rid of Trump would not rebuild what has been lost through the advent of China. My feeling is that electing mental incompetent braggards as POTUS, won't solve what is obviously a very complex problem. Neoliberal globalist deregulation gave us the Global Financial Crisis - who are the winners ?

Neoliberal globalism arose through the theories of the economist Hayek, which he espoused in his book 'Consitution of Liberty' - the book which Thatcher thumped down on the table at a Tory convention, saying 'THIS is what we believe'. It is good in theory, however the practice leaves much to be desired. It does take into account human nature and 'charity begins at home'.
We have a major problem in controlling our intellectual property when American companies transfer their manufacturing to China along with American quality management systems. In Australia we did cutting edge work on solar panels. I doubt we have even one Australian factory making them. Patents seem to mean nothing except more information, to the Chinese.
The situation with Trump is indirectly a problem which has been created by the American lobby groups through the World Trade Organisation and the International Monetary Fund. I suggest that basically it could be partially solved by making it easier for the owners of intellectual property to sue for royalties across international borders.
I have a friend who manufactures engine management systems for Porsches and Ferraris in an Australian factory . He fully expects the Chinese to reverse-engineer them.

Actually, one of the guys doing the really 'cutting edge' technology on solar panels in Oz was Chinese.
When he couldn't raise even a pittance to get them manufactured in Australia, he took his patents to China,
and became a billionaire. ( and then lost it all on some other project !, but thats life).
But we diverge....

Don't mention the Russians.

Implicating the Russians is simply Cold War bullshit not the way to get rid of Trump. We don't do commie-phobia any more. Are we really supposed to step back in time and start calling each other communists every time we discuss politics ? China is communist and has got us by the balls. The way to stop Trump is to modify the neoliberal globalism ideology so that our goods are produced more in Australia and America. It could be done by making it easier to control use of our patents in China. However China is pretty much outside of the reach of international law.

You, obviously, haven't been following the noos too much.
During (and after?) the campaign, seems a number (?) of folks were briefing/discussing/arranging/negotiating with members of the Russian Embassy on a number of matters - when they had no authority to do so. And Mr Trump has recently been said to have disclosed Israeli info on activities in Syria to the Russian Foreign Minister - which it seems the intelligence community clearly are not too keen on, and the Israeli's even less so.
Crisis after crisis after crisis, or is that gaff after gaff after gaff, just snow-balling along.
All fake news of course, if it wasn't for the small matter of the evidence that keeps mounting up.
Good time for an overseas jaunt....

Trump doesn't seem to have realised that being president of a democracy is NOT the same as being president of a company. It's run by three separate entities (congress. supreme court and president) which have equal, independent power. He seeme to think he has executive power over the other two. He's either going to get ticked off enough to resign or he'll do something REALLY dumb and get impeached. The sooner the better, but then we get Pence, replacing a raving loony with a fanatical religious nutcase. At least he seems to be a realistic politician that keeps bis religious beliefs separate from his politics.

Voltaire once wrote in his 'Eternal Optimist' that 'everything happens for the best'. - Hardship builds character ? - What doesn't kill you, might cure you.

Isn't it said that
optimists say that everything that happens is for the best,
pessimists are the ones it happens to....

Some days you're the dog, and some days the lamp post.

Not sure where Mr Trump fits into this,
but selling $650b of weapons of mass destruction to the Saudis
sounds like the alt-right policies have flown the coup, and grim reality has set in...

The new president of Iran Mr Rouhani, a moderate who agreed a deal with world powers to limit Iran's nuclear programme, pledged to "remain true" to his promises, however, after the sale of weapons by trump to the Saudis he might decide to have a rethink;

Lets be clear here, selling arms IS the name of the game, = $$$,$$$,$$$,
everything else is just window dressing, lip gloss and smoke screens.
If in doubt, follow the money trail....

If you want to have a belly laugh, take a look at Greece's military spending recently.
For a country on the brink of 'financial extinction', how could they possibly afford sooo much hardware,
500 military bases, and be spending MORE in a time of 'austerity' ?? !! (with no-one to fight either).
That salesman must have made some serious commission....

Once the 98% of the world finally realize that the 1% don't give a rats ass about any of us, maybe things will change. and that Iranian election result makes it clear that so many of us, all over the world, just want peace.

Fuk with the militarism and nationalism. Its just their (the 1%) way of hoarding resources. If 1% of the citizens own over 90% of the wealth, who's county (besides theirs) is it anyway?? Are we willing to murder or be murdered just so they can enrich themselves?

Oh, they'll pay us to do their dirty work.......
98% of all Harleys ever sold are still on the road. The other 2% made it home.
