Does this exhaust look like a 2 into 1? I think you would see the left hand silencer if it had one, and it looks like a pipe joining from the left, under the gearbox. I've seen pictures of the Dunstall Drainpipe with a 2 into 1 that runs above the gearbox, but has anyone seen anything like this for sale in recent, living memory?

Cheers! ~ Gary

That has to be just the Rt. Pipe , nowhere for the left to join in behid , as its all occupied .
theres a chassis , have to be a replica , on ebay uk . at the moment .

EXHAUSTS . if youve a healthy T120 and want it to pull 8.000 plus , the 50s 1 3/4 dia pipes are same dia. as ' T.T. pipes .
as it dirt track . The TUNED LENGTH was 32 in O.A. from valve face .Which is 28 1/2 of pipe .
Wassel ' Silencors ' baffles will go incandescent if jetted a nudge rich , enhances the extractor effect . :D

My T100 pre unit triton , I ran Rt pipe rt, and left down & over to right , the mufflers stack in under the swing arm , one
say a foot further fwd , lengths even .( latter section of both parrallel .)down under your right heel .
Have a look at the T120s on Dirt Track , or BSAs , on U Tube . to clarify muffler fit .
pretty sure its Rt muffler top parralel to swing arm , and the left pipes muffler tucks up fwd inside it .

Might be something here .http://www.flattrackmac.com/Links.html

indeed there is , T100 way down on for sale .Left muffler fits up inside and fwd of a farily std. placement of the right one.
Left header goes down to the right in front , and tucks inside / under right pipe .
On Any Sunday on U tube shows them clearly , room for long ' mufflers ' too .

Thats about the only way youll get them in low , with decent cornering clearance .
The clutch holds the pipe on the road on the left on any pre unit , bar ridgid .

So its that or high pipes .Nice little 88 on ebay dual highs at the moment .

The BIG picture I have of Mick Grant bounceing on his but beside his Seely in the i.o.m.
gives a good plan or underside view .Orange Exhaust . Twin High Pipes , Megas similar to
the Steel Wassel ones mentioned , the reasonance of the heavy cones is most melodious . :D

And the Ridgid Chaincase is a better idea than the swing arm , for shaft placement and weight displacement . By FAR .
The one rule to the exception , is theres the exeption to each rule .

Who said that chrome has to be polished? To me riding the bike was always a lot more fun than polishing it, so I never did and did not care that it was dirty and dull and looked like shit. But I can see that others might have different priorities.

Put a set of pipes on like those of "TT Special" Triumphs sold in the American market in the 1960s and stick a pair of shorty mufflers on them or baffles in them. That way your pipes will not obscure anything, and you can even paint them some color that does not show dirt so as to minimize your weight loss through the activity of polishing each day. Problem solved as long as you are interested in satisfying something other than a fashion movement as most Triton owners are....

Indeed , there the TT pipes , and not the I.o.M. either . Some are same dia. as head inserts / bore. 1 3/4 O.D.
Wassel did the long Mega's in three inlet dia, biggest fits the 50s 1 3/4 pipes . I trimmed a set back at the head end,
to pull in close to primary etc @ front . Would fall of the end of the power band / gap between 3rd & 4th 2 up uphills at
90 mph . :( Trimmed rear to length and fitted the Wassel Megas , came ' on the boil ' at 93 / 94 mph in third , :D 8)

ANYWAY , in youre pic ture , YOU can CLEARLY see , the Right Pipe . Top Notch , Wot Ho . . . . . . WHAT ' WE ' do,
is pull the right pipe UP , as you can see , theres a bit of room up over it till the cases obstuct . (This is ' Home Made ' ones)

So NOW , theres room for the LEFT Cylinders pipe , to FIT , just down from & inside the Right Cylinders . Alongside even .
But she's about 45 deg angle through centers , laterally . So th I.o.M. 45 deg. lean regulation is encompassed .
Both'd touch about simultaeneously , leant over @ 45 degrees . :D ( or more ) .

Ends ( outlets ) are staggered , as volume of Ea Pipe identical . T100 Triton they were about 1 5/8 dia and Just Like That .
(as descibed , if you follow ) . No Mufflers on it . Some little slash cuts would do , But the l o n g megas will go
up in there , the Rt arranged to just clear swing arm ( Just under it ) with the other tucked in under @ the dreaded 45 degrees , being further forward to match the Tuned Length Headers , it fits up nicely .

Got ANOTHER s/h mint video of On Any Sunday today , 50c , one last week for a dollar . But I had to wait a few decades .
The BSA's on there and elsewhere on U Tube , A65s run this arrangement for flat track with reverse cone Mega's, Viewing
will reveal , without the thousand words.Though it does have a commentator . :?

There used to be nice little steel cones / chromed , about a foot long , 3 in dia , with the rear lipped in @ 45 deg ( AGAIN )
!? so a 2 1/4 ? in outlet . Seem well matched to the Triumph 650 Twin . SO. Now YOU Know . :| Matt .

Thanks for the info Beng and Matt,
I'm currently experimenting with a pair of shorty mufflers (about 12" long) on my Bonnie. They seem to have increased the mid and top power. I still need to play around with the jetting a little to get them perfect but it's pretty close. They look good too (even dirty :)) but they are LOUD!

Gary

My mate Rob sold the drain pipe (one of 4?) to the National Motorcycle Museum a few years back. Parts brought out the back door!!!
Can confirm 2 pipes.

Brian
Give Armours a call they are in Bournemouth & did me a set of steel pipes for a Triton TT style for me to finish as I wanted. Huge savings on Unity.
