Tires for Norton Singles

Postby Baldrick » Thu Feb 18, 2010 7:46 pm

Howdy all,

I have just got a 51 ES2 and the Dunlop TT tires have been on it for over 20 years and I am going to replace them.

I intend to set the bike up for touring and am looking at my options.

What tires are people running?

I am running Avon Roadrunners on my Commando and are very happy with them.

Is anyone running Avon RR on their single?

Look forward to hearing back.

cheers

Balders,

good to see its all come together, once my 16H is legal we will have to arrange a show and tell over refreshments at the Okoroire.
Tyres - if its black and round and fits on the rims you won't go far wrong, not much chance of outriding any modern tyre on an ES2. :D
If you want a more vintage look to the tyres theres someone advertises in Beaded Wheels (Vintage Car Club Mag).

For OEM fit - Avon Safety Mileage rear, Speed Master rib type front. I put these on my '61 ES2.
