That F1 needs someone to ride the wheels off of it.

I disagree. An overhauled Bonnie engine (if verified properly done) is easily worth that amount. The junk frame isn't worth much to a restorer or originality-minded buyer, but gives you the matching numbers and is worth it for a chopper afficionado.

A friend has five of these and offered me one for free when I was at barber. I think I'll take him up on it.

This seems to be a much better and realistic deal than the bonneville I listed above and it's a commando.

the seller states the engine and frame numbers match but the numbers they give are different. Hmmm...........

I think he listed two numbers, but does list the frame and motor numbers the same if you look, but the gearbox appears different. I have bikes with matching numbers, but have never been to concerned about it. I never buy for resale and personally feel matching numbers is an investment/resale concern more than anything.

oops. i think the frame # he is quoting is the part #. i both like and dislike matching numbers. everything i have matches and that keeps me from getting too crazy with modifying. for me, non-matching would probably be more fun. and cheaper.

The thing I noticed is that there is no breather opening on the timing side like both of my 850's. Would this be right?

If he had a RH10 Head the carb spacers are 32 MM in 30 MM out at least thats how my 73 was. He has his listed as 32 MM in his store. Phil

Before someone beats me to it, I have put this on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... :MESELX:IT

Secretly I am hoping it won't sell because it will be easier to start my new project with the parts I know, but for someone with ooodles of ca$h wanting a real JPN, this is the way to go unless they can find one closer to home and in better condition.
