Interesting ... 1969 model?? The Rickman brothers built their bikes from 200 left over power plants after first RE and then Clymer stopped production of bikes. This was 1971 and 72. Some were available new from dealers in 73 too.
That doesn't mean the engine gearbox might not be from 69.

I had one of those Rickman Enfields back in the late '70s. It was a really great bike, except for the transmission, which was really clunky and slow to shift. I'd been spoiled by the Commando gearbox by then, and the Enfield was so much worse by comparison. Still, it had good power, handled superbly, and had great brakes (all for the time, of course!).

I bought a 5 speed from Hitchcock along with the BNR clutch. Insane money but I just had to
see what an Enfield is like when it can shift. That it is just a S2 and not a Rickman is a shame
but half a loaf and all that.
Rickmans are now reaching "too expensive to ride" level.
