Someone please stop me.......please.....

Postby britbikemike » Fri Sep 02, 2011 11:01 am

I just committed to buy a 1969 BSA Royal Star this evening. Engine is free, but rest is mostly apart for $400. I may need a couch to sleep one when I bring the FOURTH bike home this month. Or at least does someone around the area know how to do stitches?

Maybe we don't have to stop you, you will probably stop yourself.

Like the time recently that you "made a commitment" to buy a Norton transmission from me, said you were going to put the money order in the mail weeks ago and never did......

I was honestly thinking about that this am. I went out of town over the holiday to celebrate the birthday's of three of my children. This was the first time I have done this combined with the ex-wife and her family, (bad divorce) plus I had my NEW WIFE with me and no one had told the ex I was remarried yet. :) I will be sure to send it out today though if you would so kindly accept my sincerest apologies for my oversight. I had a box show up yesterday and thought, great it's my transmission, and then later realized I never sent it out. I am still very interested in it and can send payment to you today if you will still sell it to me.

No thanks. Money is useful at times, but much more valuable and useful is staying as far the f()* as I can away from idiots.

It's nice to see that people can accept an honest apology for an oversight. I gave you a public apology, and even sent a personal apology directly to you, and then offered to send the money out that day on my lunch break, that was on 9/9. I even sent you my personal phone number so I could talk to you directly, however this is the first I have heard back from you. A personal attack, on a public forum, almost a week later. I hope that you come to terms with whatever demons you are battling in your personal life, so that you may enjoy the rest of it.

I for one, am going to enjoy my family, enjoy my Nortons, and enjoy my life to it's fullest, without giving this a second thought. Once again, I apologize for losing track of time and thinking that I had sent it out. I was coordinating three of my children's birthdays out of state, with my EX wife and my NEW wife, so I could actually see them on their birthday for the first time in 6 years.

I truly do hope that you find peace with whatever it is that is making your life so miserable. Because if someone that sincerely apologizes for a mistake, can make you this hostile, and upset, then there is obviously more going on with you that this.

Good day to you sir.

Michael

You are way too polite, but seeing how this "person" replied, you may have avoided being scammed. Trust is earned, this bridge burner has a long ways to go before anyone has enough confidence to deal with him.

Jean, It may have been a little different if it were in person, but there is no sense in lowering myself to this level. I know I have not been on this forum long, but I can't be the first one he has lashed out to like this. We have always joked that "gentlemen" ride British bikes, maybe some others secretly ride Harleys  Responding in kind to things like this just encourages it to continue.

Dont Stop , the more the merryer . " Its all an investment , for the Grand Children " :P

Prices have ' gone up a bit ' over the years , a Hedge on Inflation . ! :D But dont hoard junk .

Stuff disposed of as worthless once ( Like 3Ta's ) people part with hard erned cash for now.
Though most never ride em . Gives you bargining tools for tradeing .

Most later seies machines were fairly well sorted , Or the tricks neccessary to rectify flaws have evolved.
Though we're not sure about the Velo 350 flat twins . or ' one or two ' other machines . :|
The one rule to the exception , is theres the exeption to each rule .

I rest my case. If I was going to lie about it, I could of just said, "What do you mean you didn't get it? I sent it?"

Here is my email that I sent on Sept 9 that I copied from my box here on the forum:

I am so sorry. I made a public apology to you on the BB. My ex and I do not get a long and we decided to get together for the first time in 6 years and jointly celebrate the kids birthdays. I brought the new wife that no one new about yet, and needless to say I was a little uneasy about it. Please accept my sincerest apologies.

If you will still sell it to me I will certainly buy it. My cell number is 828-989-3407. I can leave at lunch and put it in the mail to you.

So yes Beng, it's "my story". Would you like to see pictures of the birthday party as well? Maybe it will brighten your day up some.
