Thanks for views of sensations beyond reach of most of us. I know which bike makes the best echo's in those spaces.

I think Ludwig is in heaven, that is why he doesn't post about mundane stuff like what tires or oil to use

Yes fantastic stuff ludwig, Europe is on the bucket list for me and the wife.
Gee I thought New Zealand had some twisty roads.
Sorry for the ignorance, but is the BMW a three wheeler.?
What's your opinion of your brothers Triumph.? They are reasonably priced over here and I would like
a modern British tourer.

It is not made by BMW , but BMW powered .
It is Swiss made and quite expensive : 62 000 Euro or 92000 $ ;
so you won't see many outside Switserland .
I rode for a while behind the silver one and also talked to the owner .
It is twowheeled , airconditoned , sunroof , top speed of 250 km/h , etc ..:

The Triumph is a good , gentle tourer .
My brother had it somewhat modified : tubeless wheels , + 8 HP ,etc ..

Power and performance is comparable with the Commando .
In the mountains my Commando is slightly faster uphill because of lesser weight .

But after a trip , all he has to do is wash his bike , while I usually come back with a ' to do ' list ..

Nice looking country there Ludwig. I must say you look like you travel light. I usually carry more stuff just for an overnighter!

Daily bread for me..almost  . Living in Munich the Eastern Alps are about 2hrs away, and almost drove down there last week-end. Not with the Commando though which went bust back in June - in Italy actually near Reggio Emilia - on our way to the Abruzze. One great region as well with the Gran Sasso (highest mountain in central Italy), Campo Imperatore, Monte Sibillini..

The Commando lost the left intake cam and was replaced on the fly by my Guzzi 750s which a late-joining friend drove down from Munich in our race truck  . The Commando will be taken apart beginning of October when the racing season is over and the engine will be rebuilt over winter with hopefully some optimizations..

But thanks for sharing Ludwig, always nice to see Commandos in action!

Daniel

BTW almost forgot - where in Belgium are you? I lived for 20+ years near Brussels and my parents actually still live in Tervueren. Which reminds me that I should visit them more often, (and also the 1938 BMW R51 that I bought 4 years ago in Sweden and my dad had hijacked )

Ludwig,
Those are some great pictures, what a place to enjoy what a lightweight Commando is best at.
My bucket list also includes a journey to your area of the world but since I can't be there now to do it in person, here's to you. Jim
