I understand that Mr.Jenkinston has to stop riding his bike but - unless he has to for any reason we don't know - he shouldn't sell it ! As he said himself : 'I am very sad to be selling it - it's like selling your child. I really hope it will be bought by someone who will ride it rather than going to a museum.

KEEP IT !

I think he'd actually be happier finding some who wants it than to keep it, just to wait and die and never know.
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

I would rather find appreciative and passionate enthusiasts to take over care of the bikes I have at some point before I kick the bucket. The unattractive alternative having them end up in a place where no one knows what they are or how to work on them.

One elderly acquaintance of mine said he would set fire to his bike and spares instead of them going somewhere lacking in knowledge and passion, and I fully appreciate his view.

Young people probably don't think about it, but I figure most of the "hobby time" I have left will be spent finding good homes for the bikes I have and getting them ready for that new home. If I get to use them and hear them run a bit in the process that is just a bonus that I am very thankful for.....
