Yes I try to savor the flavor of the Ozarks. Such a silly name too. This one is an open to public event with police and inside a city so not sure how much fun or fidelity it might provide. Usually I go to the smaller more Woodstock like musical gatherings of true hippie culture way out in the woods. I'm kind of freaked out I survived childhood and a number of things since, and realized I've only got so many weekend left back around y2k, so got directed to look around here and decided to sell everything in city and see if could make it in Dixieland paradise.b For the next few months there are biker events all over the country and Arkansas that over lap - no way to taste all the local ones. Will think of you next time out on new paved swervy way to work and back.

hehe the 4 deer I chased in pasture on Trixie Sunday got surprised when I came out home but i was looking at floor so didn't see them till I heard this small dog like squeal/howl I though was just that by a lost dog, then couple more till i looked up and they all tensed up and started huffing at me as they trotted away. I'd never heard the weird first sound before.

I learned the sound raccoons make to keep deer from stepping on them, a purring sound, just like one made I'd blown it guts out and hunting to finish off in deep grass made as I approached, I guess it thought a deer had got him and to don't do it again, then blew its brains out. Wife's orders after a family of em got some of her ducks. Still they are like small aware bears to kill so I feel it but then again my time will come too. In the mean time ...

You know Aussei I sure hope he is by consenting ones. I don't get the feeling this is an event that would go over to well with the Christian Motorcycles bunch. Here's a summary I just found and make note of the swimming attire options and expect mostly Harley types will attend which are rather more ah wild than a mellow Norton rally. Will take video if worth while. I expect to meet some interesting people and maybe some that distill Ozark Spirits or grow Ozark Greens. But it does have a pray session thrown in here and there and is right at edge of big city so don't expect it as fun as some further out that is only open to let folks in till closing time then shut off from public access w/o police and plenty of dancing and swimming topless and bottomless women I'm told, as ain't had a running cycle during the window of opportunity. So in a way this is just a practice run for more serious getting into trouble away from home.

The first Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was held in 1938, and consisted of a single race with nine participants and a small audience. Recent rally attendance is well over a half million bikers descending upon Sturgis, SD annually. I believe the monumental growth is due to the scenic rides of the Black Hills.

The first Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally was held in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2000 with just over 300 riders. It is now estimated over 400,000 people attend the rally each year. Once again, I suggest it is the magnificent rides within the Ozark Mountains which brings so many bikers to Fayetteville.

I have ridden Spearfish Canyon in the Black Hills, and gazed into the faces of dead presidents at Mt. Rushmore. Yet neither of these sites surpasses the splendor I’ve observed at Buffalo National River near Harrison, Arkansas. The stunning Ozark Mountains are every bit as picturesque as the Black Hills. The rides originating from Harrison are some of the most scenic in our nation, and the twisties are comparable with those in Tennessee or North Carolina.

Last month Reverend Troll’s Rock-n-Roll Revival was born in Harrison, Arkansas. The two day music and motorcycle event will be held in a park in Harrison on August 19th and 20th (remember how Sturgis began in a local park). Reverend Troll’s Rock-n-Roll Revival will feature live music and showcase the impressive rides of the Ozarks. On two sides of the park runs a cold spring-fed creek, so be sure to bring your swimsuit (or not). Guided poker runs and tours will be offered by area motorcycle organizations on Saturday.

This is a history making event because Rev Troll’s Rock-n-Roll Revival is the first motorcycle event in Harrison to ever serve alcohol. After more than seventy years of being a dry county Boone County recently enacted laws permitting sales of alcoholic beverages.

Free tent camping next to the creek is available with modern facilities and hot showers. The 1929 Hotel Seville is offering discounted rooms for only $79 which are ordinarily $94. Ugh, ain't gonna happen for me, got Trixie slides greased which 1/2 way proved that was main issue to return to idle but only 1/2 way because the grease apparently clogged LH carb so won't fire on that side, so of course one would expect better return to slow enough to stall. ugh. Master cylinder leak getting worse just sitting still too, ugh. Out of state patients early this am, so Wes will take wife and let me know what I missed.
