I've been working with Brent on a '64 Triumph Bonneville Restore lately. This is my dads bike that has been in storage for over 38 years. Since this was my first bike, I probably over researched every part of the restore including the paint job. Since I wanted this to be as original to the same color I went out and purchased paint from a reputable supplier, but when it came, it wasn't as close as I thought it should be. I sent the paint over to Brent to see what he thought and he was in agreement with me. The next day he sent me pictures of an almost perfect match. There was an original clean area behind one of the emblems that he was able to get the color to match.

There are a lot of people on this post that talk about Brent's excellent business attitude and his exceptional communication skills and updates. I can't say enough about these qualities and Brent has been nothing less. I talked to several guys about this paint job and almost all them seemed as if I was bothering them. These types of jobs are very intimate to the owner and they want to make sure their future beauty is in good hands. I never thought I made the wrong decision in having Brent do a quality job.

If you need to get your tins painted, Brent is the guy. The title of this thread is "Reasonable Prices" which although true is not the reason to send him your bits. His attention to detail, follow-up, follow-thru and all around communication was flawless. He kept me up to date on every move he made and went above and beyond to make sure he exceeded my expectations.

I just got them in the mail this week (packaged properly) and they are even better looking than the pictures. I was really considering going local rather than dealing with the shipping expense and UPS for that matter but I made the right decision sending them to Brent. He will be getting all my business in the future.

I agree with J.Southard. Went up to Brent's to pick up my tank and side-covers for my '75 Commando. Simply put, Brent's work is outstanding. It's as if it were new from the factory but very much better. Let's just say it's how it should have come from the factory in the '70s.

His work is meticulous and the best quality I have ever seen - even down to the "Electric Start" lettering. I would have him do a Brough over... (...anyone got one hanging around...?? )

Brent did an awesome job on my tank and panels. Even though I made it more difficult by sending a fairly dodgy (rusty) tank but we got it fixed and it looks just great. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services. I'm planning on sending him my next one.

Brent did the paintwork on my ’71 Commando in the late summer of 2011, gas tank, side panels, fenders etc. The finished work was excellent, the red pinstripes precise and consistent. His technique with decals/logos is very good - I provided the transfers from the UK and Brent used them as templates/stencils so that the finished decal is all in paintwork and they look superb. Brent’s prep work is thorough and detailed and he keeps you posted on the work in progress with copious photographs as he proceeds. I’m very pleased with the finished work which has received compliments from several riding chums. I have no hesitation in recommending the Vintage Vendor.

Brent just painted the tank and side covers for my 1975 Norton 850. He did the "Blue Stripe" paint scheme...I think most people call it the John Player scheme. I spoke with several painters before deciding to go with Brent. Only two had done the paint scheme and Brent was the only one that was excited about doing it again. It has 4 colors and is a pretty complex layout. He has an original JP scheme tank so the colors and the layout are accurate. Mine was also an original and Brent's looks just like the original only his quality is much better. He answer all my e-mails quickly and sent pictures documenting the whole process. His price was competitive. I would highly recommend him.

I recently started my first classic motorcycle refresh/restoration, a 1968 Triumph TR6R. For me the scariest part was who to get to do the paint. I heard about The Vintage Vendor from a Triumph board and he came highly reccomended. You can't believe everything you read online, but I am glad I believed this.

After much dicussion, we tracked down what I needed for the original paint to go back on. I packed it up and sent it off with my fingers crossed. Brent let me know right away when he recieved the package.

He then kept in touch with me throughout the whole process. He sent me a scrapbook's worth of pictures detailing the whole affair. I was thrilled and excited. But lets face it reviews are great but they don't really tell the whole story when everything goes right. well in my case it didn't.

The decal on the side cover did not want to cooperate and had some issues. Brent told me of the problem right away including detailed pictures. I told him to do what he felt best and I could live with imperfection.

What he felt best was to fix the problem. Stripping off a lot of work and doing magic to the piece and I am thrilled with the outcome. This is when you know you are working with a guy you can trust. When things don't go right and he fixes it.

I could have told you how pretty everything came out, and it did. I could have told you how thrilled I am with his attentive nature, and I am. But as a potential customer what you need to hear is Brent fixed a problem when I gave him the option not to. That tells me that he cares as much about my project as I do and that is invaluable.

In this day and age it's hard to find a craftsman who cares about his work. I know that my future paint work will be going to Brent because I want it to be right.

Working with Brent is the best. He turns the work around quickly, always sends pics along the way, and has the best communication. He's bailed me out of some tight spots several times. And the paint-work is stunning. It's not easy to do black, and Brent is the master in black! As well as every other color I can throw at him.

I read the previous testamonials about The Vintage Vendor on this site and just blindly sent him an email. I had a steel Roadster tank and sides that I wanted painted. Brent came off as a very friendly person that put customer satisfaction ahead of all other details. I sent my parts and received a wonderful amount of in-process pictures and details of the work. There was a small imperfection with one of the letters on the tanl logo and Brent did the right thing and redid the work to make me happy. I never had to ask him either. I asked him if he would be satisfied with it if it were his bike and he didn't hesitate. He also went through many new fuel caps until he found one that he thought I would be satisfied with.
The tank and sides are simply beautiful. The attention to detail is fabulous and price was extremely reasonable.
Shipping from KY to VT was simple via UPS.
I highly recommend Brent and The Vintage Vendor for his paint work and his awesome communication.
He gets all my work and recommendations from now on!

Shouldn't this be in the "For Sale" section of the forum so more people have a chance of finding this wonderful service?

I have been "learning" to do my own paint. Here is a photo of my tank. It isn't a very good photo but then it probably hides the bad paint job.

Here is what I have learned...I have a lot of hours and a fair amount of money tied up in this. I don't know how Brent does it for the prices he charges. Seriously.

Don't the advertisments for parts and services for sale belong in the appropriate part of the forum titled "For Sale"?

To answer your question beng, I placed this post here back in June of 2009. It seems to have done quite well here and been seen by many people, as well as received over 70 testimonials. So I guess I just leave well enough alone. On occasion, I do sell painted tins and put them in the For Sale section, not here. But this post seems to fit better here to me. This is a service I offer, which to me comes under "Anything Else Motorcycle Related." I guess I think of the For Sale section as bikes and parts.
