Superblend Layshaft bearing

Postby htown16 » Sat Dec 26, 2009 10:18 pm

I am preparing to install a superblend layshaft bearing as part of my gear box overhaul. The inner race has a flange on it. Should this go facing towards the inside of the gear box or facing towards the outer shell of the gear box?

I'm sure the inner race flange goes to the inside while the outer race flange goes outer.

If it's the correct NJ203 bearing, then it should have a double lipped outer race to hold the bearing cage captive, but as you say, the inner race flange must be fitted against the gear.
