Burlen systems have recently issued a warning about counterfeit Amal parts.

Might explain at least some of the complaints that come up from time to time about poor quality.

I'm surprised someone would counterfeit a small and cheap part, I bet these are coming from the back of dealers shelves that had these made by various manufacturers when Amal was defunct and in nomansland in the 70's and 80's. The quality is shocking as can be seen from the photos, mind you it's good of Burlen at Salisbury to take on and keep the Amals going, as I genuinely like them and had no problems with mine after 29k on my Commando.
