A superb Fastback, even my very critical friend could not find anything to say about this one, everything was just perfect, no I take it back, he said it was a shame the paint was not original

Looks like the rear hub has the cush drive rather than the bolt on?

That bike did have the bolt-on drum, the plugs just happen to be hidden in the one picture.

He had the bike parked right next to my Ranger - actually mine was sandwiched between two '68 Commandos. The Green one was supposed to be in the first boatload, but both were numbered in the 126xxx range. If I recall, neither had the frame repair, i.e., still had the coils stacked one over the other where the later brace was installed.
There was a lot of discussion about the need for some sort of disclaimer when a bike is restored with a potentially fatal defect left intact.
His claim also was that the color is a faithful reproduction of the gelcoat, but the tank was in need of serious work and had to be painted.

I didn't like the fact that fastbacks were put into the 'low production big twin category', along with 750 'S' bikes and the hybrids. They should be in a class by themselves. I would think that there should be separate classes for Roadster, Interstate, Fastback, other Commando models ('S', 'SS', Hi Rider, 'R', Fastback LR, Interpol), and low production big twin class for N15, P11, Production Racer, and the Dunstall variants.
