Over all length of a Commando?

Postby cdafirefighter » Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:36 am

Hey, what is the over all length of a commando? I have a friend who is going to pick up my new commando and was wondering if it will fit in a 6.5' pickup bed with the tailgate up? My friend needs to know if he should bring a bed net. Thanks, Gabe

Tailgate up? Nope. I don't think so.
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

Stock Commando overall length is 7' 3-1/2" (222cm), according to the manual.

It will not fit in a 6'6" or 6'8" pickup bed with the tailgate up, unless it was angled in.

Hello in Idaho. I am a City of Fairbanks firefighter trying to keep a 74 Commando on the road. The bike will fit in the 6.5 foot bed of a Ford pickup with the gate closed no problem. I hope yours doesn't have to ride there too often. Good luck and stay safe. Almost forgot, the bike has to go in diagonally.
