OUTBOX

Postby Jerry Doe » Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:49 am

Hi All,

I have had a few emails regarding mails/PM's stuck in the outbox. I wanted to clear up how it works to all of you: If you see a message stuck in the Outbox, it is not really stuck. It means the recipient has not yet opened your PM. As soon as they open it and read it, it will not be in your Outbox anymore.

I want to take this opportunity to ask you all to do maintenance on you mail boxes. Please go you go in and remove old emails/ PM's. I iwll be doing a forum upgrade soon and the less in the PM table the better,

Cheers,

Jerry

Bill,

Once you are logged in, then directly below "Board Index" in the top left corner of each page you should be seeing: "User Control Panel (0 new messages) View Your Posts" ?

If there is a message or messages waiting, then you should see a "1"-"2"-etc. instead of "0"?

Click on (x new messages) that should take you straight to your inbox?

If you have a new message or messages waiting to be read, then you should see a pop-up window when you log in that will take you straight to your inbox, and you should also get an e-mail telling you that you have a new private message waiting?

Presumably you should be seeing the same thing I see?:

Can you get to your UCP any other way?

If so, try using the "Reset" button on each of the UCP settings pages?

If you can't access your UCP at all, then maybe Jerry can correct the problem, so please let us know?

Yes, "Board Index" should also show at the bottom left.

I will inform Jerry of your problem.

Bill,

Jerry has checked, and he tells me that the problem seems to be at your end?

He suggests you try Firefox?
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

I also think the problem could be caused by your computer's own firewall settings or some other security setting? I use both IE8 and Firefox and I don't have any problems, so I suggest that you try logging in from a different computer if you can, and see if that makes any difference, as that would point to the problem being with your own computer?
