Norton Trackmaster rebuild project

Postby mt92 » Thu Dec 08, 2016 4:11 am

I have been racing a champion framed Triumph the last few years. My Dad has had a trackmaster Norton for 40+ years and we just pulled it out of the shed to go thru it for next year. I will probably be seeking some engine performance advice soon. :D

Thanks
Mike

Here's one seen at Barber Vintage Days. Pretty sure it's a Trackmaster. Something to shoot for.

Nice project!
Look like, by where oil hoses go and the alloy cap just behind steering head, to be oil-in-frame.
No a fan of zip-e-ties for that bike's catch tank though.
Great challenge to get yours just right - extra satisfaction given its history
Best of luck

That should be a fun bike. I owned this one for a while. It's an ex-factory John Hatley bike. I added the mufflers so I could test ride it around the neighborhood. Kind of wish I'd kept it now. Isn't it always like that?

I knew a guy that could "resurrect" old photos to greatly reduce the yellow, and restore the primary colors somewhat. It also brought back some of the detail.

However, I kinda like the "old" photos (NOT the modern photos with patina added)

Feel free to use it however you like. This is a view from the other side. These are scans from 35 mm slides I took back in the early '70s, and I'm sure they could be prettied up a bit. I've just never had much motivation to do so.

Have a Trackmaster Trident back in a corner of my shop, been there for years. All new parts. Motor bought new in 1970 (?) from Triumph dealer, then modified, never started. Trackmaster frame Kennedy hubs. Someday have to do something with it.
