No sorry Cookie, N-15 internals are very different looking. They are way harder to find and contain less mistakes than the Commando type. I would have at least plugged the holes halfway up that taper and re-drilled them so that the bottom of the hole just grazed the tapered section. But hey who am I. It could have been so good for so little effort.
Paul since you put in Commando guts did you check to see the effect of such a mod.. The dampener tubes are Commando (later) how about the rods? Have you checked the travel and ride height? You could have as little as three inches travel or more than the 4 1/2 stock travel depending on how the parts are mixed. Check without the springs and do some measuring. G

That one of the most aggravating things about this bike, the parts books have no illustrations.

I'll check the fork travel when I pull them off to install the headlight ears. It looked like more than 4" on the bench (I compressed them repeatedly with lots of oil to get them nice and slippery).

I also have a spare covenant conversion kit, maybe I'll toss it in for grins.

Then that might have been due to an accident at one time and the only parts available were Commando?
I was thinking back to my G15CSR which had full Norton internals while I recall some of the dirt aimed versions had Matchless.

a convenant kit is of no use here . like norbsa said , these are later type Commando dampers , so no holes below the taper to close .
If the damper rods are lenghtened the same amount as the damper tubes are shorter ( and it looks like it ) , then there is likely no problem with fork travel .
Remember the rules ..

Paint shop is getting down to bare metal on the tank after some serious grinding through many layers of old paint and bondo.

She looks very tall but I imagine the additional weight will bring her down a bit.

They worked out the big dent real nicely-

They're shifting gears to the Black parts so I can complete the fokes & shocks, and start mounting up as many cycle parts as possible before the engine mount plates get here.
