Nice Atlas

Postby Jeandr » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:13 pm

From my buddy's shop, he rebuilt it all with parts he had and a few I gave him. The back fender I gave him had been chopped shorter in the back (because it was cracked and it was the thing to do back then) so he had one with a good back but rusted to shit front, they were welded together to make one good fender, then chromed, the seam is invisible.

Nice bike. That's some shop, just the collection of wheels alone. Nice to have the right friends.

How's Bob doing? I haven't made it down in a while. Busy as usual I imagine.

Yes very nice. My hero as a young teen had a Red one, many rides on the back, I had a Fastback as soon as I turned 16...

Hi Jean

Very nice job looks great, just love the looks of a good classic Featherbed Norton, just hope when I get a full motor for my Slimline Featherbed that it will look just as good, I'm missing a head for my 650 mortor, I have a contact here that has a rebuilted 650SS motor for sale but as aways just don't have the money he is asking for it $3,500.

I am relieved that someone has spent their time and money preserving and restoring a Norton Atlas like this. That one has been preserved for the future makes very sure that I never have to waste time doing it that I can spend on repairing the Manx, and the 88ss and 650cc Nortons I have. Thank you.

Nice looking machine. I'd still love to find its little 650 brother.
