NEW JAP RACING MOTORS

Postby Foxy » Thu Feb 04, 2010 8:13 pm

Gday All, another interesting display at Phillip Island classic races was these brand new Aussie made JAP motors and featherbed frames. Pretty impresive stuff, the JAP motor being 1203 cc with a 1300 supercharged one in the pipline and all beefy internals toboot! With this sort of machinery available, my list of wants just keeps getting longer!

Greg Summerton of Sth Australia is the man making these JAP motors, make a mean machine slotted into the frame made by Graeme Wagland of Melbourne, gotta win lotto soon! :!:

Looks pretty nice. i wonder why the intakes aren't oriented to allow level carb mounting (float levels are going to be a real bugger like that)

The damn things will go going so fast in so many directions there will be no reference to "level".
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

That must be the motor that T E Lawrence was talking about in his book "The Mint", when he said " a JAP motor, supertuned like this can run to the moon and back unfaltering". Looking at this and those Irvng Vincents, you lads in OZ are making sum really nice things. And Fullauto's Norton heads too of course !

I've been into drag racing motorcycles for many years. My very first fuel bike started life as a Prestwich motor.
