New Ferodo brake shoes rubbing.

Postby gtsun » Fri Jan 01, 2010 12:37 am

I just installed a new set of Ferodo shoes on my rear wheel & they seem to be rubbing. The adjuster is backed off, the drum was checked & is actually in very good shape. Not out of round etc. All new bearings in the hub & drum & I gently bead blasted & painted it. Now that it's mounted the shoes seem to be rubbing. I thought the Ferodo shoes wouldn't need to be turned down unless they were oversized. They came from Clubmans so It's hard to belive they are the wrong ones. Box says part #FSB 922. It's not normal For them to need to be turned down is it? The brake plate is nice & straight & it is not rubbing. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Oops... Once again the parts are good, the mechanic (me) was wrong. I had not applied the brake hard enough to center the shoes when I tightened the spindle. My bad.
