Motorcycle rental = money well spent

Postby Adventurer96 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:01 am

I was in Las Vegas for a few weeks with work in October and I had a chance to rent a motorcycle over the weekend. I was a little apprehensive as I've never been much of a Harley guy, but I have to say it was the best money spent on the trip. They were even playing "Wild Hogs" in the background.

I'd forgotten how great the area around Las Vegas is for riding, and the weather was ideal. I brought my helmet, boots, gloves and jacket, which was warm when stopped but perfect when riding. The bike was a 2011 Street Bob, and while it was a little anemic I was able to ride it 12 hours over two days with no discomfort whatsoever. After two hours on any other bike, I usually have to take a break, but this stock bike was surprisingly comfortable.

Bottom line - I think that I'll be renting motorcycles on my work trips in the future. If you've thought of trying it, go for it.

I did that too in Tennessee to ride the Dragon and the whole experience was well worth it, got lost a few times (missed my exits)

Keen eyes will notice I am wearing a Norton T-shirt

What a cheesy "smile for the camera".

I DID notice the Norton t-shirt! Maybe that's the reason for the smile?

I'm smiling for a few reasons, first and foremost, I always smile and second, that was a very enjoyable ride. Even with that big HD, I could have gone fast enough to get pulled over, lots and lots of radars on that road.
