Mk2A battery tray??

Postby FastFred » Tue Jul 13, 2010 1:04 pm

I thought my Mk2A battery tray had been hacked around as I was told that they should have a bracket for the lower left hand side panel to fix to (through the rubber top hat)? I just had a look on evilbay for a second hand one but there are only mk3 ones for sale which look like mine and certainly have no bracket for the side panel. Are the two the same or does the lower side panel bracket come off somewhere else? Maybe I have a MK3 battery tray?

The Mk2a has a plastic 1/4 turn fastener in the side panel and a matching receptacle in a rectangular hole in the battery tray - sorry no pic

Do you mean the dzus fastener for the first and what is the matching receptacle? What would go into that? Thanks.

Mk1A parts diagram, Mk2A either identical or very similar (sorry the hour is too late for me to cross-check the part numbers)

l.a.b.'s picture is correct it is the same as my mk2a and the battery sits across the frame behind the plastic air box and yes mk3 is different again.

This came up a couple of months ago...
I stuck a couple of photos of my MkIIA in for clarity (a relative term in the case of my photos, unfortunately!)
