It looks like a fiberglass cover. Where I'd be the concerned is the dzus tab where it's riveted to the fiberglass.
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

Prototype "3" Swingarm.

The box section upright was not a good idea in practice. I opened it up and now the rising rate linkage can swing in a full arc, same as with the prototype "1" unit on the Silver bike.

A few other bugs to sort out still, a bit freer and longer range of motion on the rear brake pedal, and a bit tighter adjustment on the shifter linkage.

The client also decided on upright bars instead of the clip-ons, so we'll be making that change as well.

What will you be doing with the old clip ons?

The clip ons are specific to the inverted forks on ZX9 and similar bikes.
