Kaikoura Earthquake

Postby splatt » Sun Nov 20, 2016 11:17 pm

I don't know if you guys around the rest of the world see much of this on the news but some of the images of the earths destruction are stunning, it would appear most of the main highway down the coast has been ruptured and destroyed, it will be a gravel road for years before they get it fixed. The sea bed and some of the foreshore rose from 2 to 4 meters in places, shellfish all high and dry. One fault line displaced 10m, an image of a house off its piles, 10m off its piles .
I live about 300km north and after the first minute of shaking I thought it was dying down then the second one kicked in centered about 100km north of the first one and that really kicked our house about and made the ass pucker .Wellington port suffered a fair bit of damage, but most of that's reclaimed land on an earthquake fault so you cant expect miracles.
Google search for some images its an eye opener
Remember, Geebuz saves, warning level (1)
