I am still getting all the info I can about who all is pictured, etc. The transport was one of few garage model Rectrans Discoverer motorhomes. Built on a Dogge M300 chassis. This model has a 440 cu in engine.
I have been told I have an understanding wife. I am still looking for info on the JPS Transport. Keep me in mind if you have any photos, etc. BTW, the image is distorted. It is a three photo composite.
I am still looking for help with this project. I have a new lead. UK based MCI magazine did a story on the Transporter in their Sep 73 issue. If anyone has a copy, I would appreciate a ping. Rj
This is as close as I will ever get to the real deal. A tribute bike and a tribute transport ? No doubt , Mr Williams would be a great source of info. I understand he is a true gentleman.
THNX. I have contacted with the vendor hoping to that if I don't score (win the auction) that he may be willing to scan the article for a fee. No joy. I don't really blame him for not being willing to record the data. This is not the world we lived in decades ago. I may have cursed my efforts by mentioning it here? I am still soliciting help from anyone that may have the article. Thirty Seven years in helicopters has shown me never to base your efforts on just one plan.
However the MCI article doesn't even mention the transporter although it is seen in the background in some of the rather low quality bike photos but none of them really show the transporter very well.
I prevailed on the transaction. Now if the stuff makes it here, I should be alright. I did receive word that the current owner of the original Transporter is closing in on finishing a resto. Still, any more info would be appreciated. Rj
