Gathering of the Nortons 10:00 am 4/17

Postby MarshalNorton » Fri Apr 15, 2011 6:14 am

Anyone who is up to a beautiful Sunday outing can join the Delaware Valley Norton Riders at Washington Crossing State Park at 10 am for a Norton get together. All Marques welcome. See what everybody has been hiding in their garage all winter.
It is a nice turn out and a lovely area to break away and ride if you choose to. If you are local to the Bucks and Montgomery County, PA area you have a nice event in your back yard. Anyone can google the Delval riders group for more info and directions.
Legal disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for this endorsement of thee event
Hope to see and meet some local forum contributors there Sunday.

Was a bit chilly in the morning riding along the river but worth it. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OYJN78GG30

A huge event - gets bigger and better every year.

Russ

(The Marshal was there but lost him in the crowd after the lunchtime hot dog feast.)

That's a lot of Nortons!

Someone stuck a BMW in with the Commando's. Ban him!!!
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

A belated follow up to thee event.
Weather was scarry in the morning looked like a tornado was going to touch down in the Newtown area.
Wind and strong gusts blew along and I got the best fuel mileage ever.
A nice breakfast gathering was attended in Newtown before departing for thee event.
As Russ stated in his posting this event continues to grow each year.
It orig started with 9 guys drinking coffee at the park in the rain talking bikes.
I spoke with one of the orig. members about this over breakfast.
My friend John is a comedian. He recently got an old R800 and restored it to a rider.
Swooshdave, he thought it was funny to badge it as a rare Norton as a parody for the event.
Obviously they entertained him for his efforts as thee staff allowed him the privelege to park
it amongst the covetted Nortons.
Russ, sorry I lost ya after lunch, got speaking with Tom from Philly who was the creator of the Avatar I use on this forum.
I had to thank him as I have gotten allot of mileage out of it and many many complements.
I met a few new people this year as well.
A really nice crowd, no attitudes just bikes.
Waiting for next year already
