FS: '72 fastback $6,500? Neg

Postby worstdayever » Tue Aug 22, 2017 5:32 pm

This is a 1972 Fastback with a late '60's engine. The original tank is fiberglass and started peeling on the inside, so i got a new stainless roadster tank, and had it and the side covers powdercoated. I still have the original seat and tank, rear fairing etc to go with the bike along with some new roadster side covers. Its been completely rewired, except the headlight bucket. There is no handlebar/kill switch and no highbeam. Im sure its an easy wiring issue but frankly, im tired of wiring. The mikuni starts the bike on the first couple of kicks and runs fine. Theres a boyer ignition installed as well as the spin on oil flter. Not in a rush to sell but ill consider a fair offer. Getting ready to move cross country and would rather not move 2 bikes with me. The bike is currently in San Diego, CA

Price sounds fair to me, but right now I'm SELLING, not buying.

Should find a buyer soon. You'll want to sell it before cool weather arrives; or you'll have to make a choice to lower the price, or sit on it till next spring.

I'm curious about the black fuel tank. It's stainless steel? Manufacturer?

The black tank was actually fiberglass. Definitely aftermarket. It came on the bike but later started leaking terribly and was discarded. I still have an origin green fiberglass tank that peeling inside that's going with the bike.

Not me! I make it a point to only live where I can ride almost year round. Haven't driven a car in years, not sure I'd remember how.

Sorry, I got confused about which tank was which. But I'm still wondering about the new tank being stainless steel and who made it?
