One good thing about the hoarders is that they have probably saved many bikes from destruction and eventually when they pass on the rest of us get a chance to pick up those items that have not been destroyed by neglect. In the last year I have bought 3 bikes from guys who had them for years with a view to restoring them and finally let them go due to lack of space/inspiration/enthusiasm etc. I now have 10 bikes (I let number 11 go this weekend to a chum in our local classic bike club) which seems rather a lot for one chap and is perhaps verging on hoarding, however in my defence I do manage to restore at least one every year.
