That depends on how many parts you bring me.
You probably want to go into town, and find a up to date Jap Bike store,
With a full spares department, a clean workshop, and kean young mechanics.
And ask them if theres a Grumpy Old Bloke out in the Hills, who knows how to fix Real Motorcycles.

Lookin' good Dave!

Tell me, what is the piece between the fender bracket and center stand in the second photo?

Heh, I wish I knew. I guess it's a bonus part.

It looks like a cross between my Dunstall fairing front mount and the front brake line mount where the single line from the master cyl. joins the right and left caliper lines.

Thanks to whoever recently gave the hint about a threaded rod and using the old bearings to install the new ones. It worked perfectly.

Image
The screen needs refinished one of these days. Looks kind of bad next to the newly painted other parts.

Image
Installed the MkIII isos. Front was a fight but the rear wasn't as bad.

Image
As they say the Commando is built around the battery tray so there it is, the beginning.

The next steps will be the hardest, trying to figure out what to do next. I'm missing the iso bolts and the engine mounting bolts and the lower gearbox bolt so really not much major will get assembled until then. I'm not sure what I should focus on first, get the parts for the forks so it can go up on the wheels or not worry about that and just tackle the rest of the chassis.

Actually I think it's a Triumph part. I'll know more soon.

Triumph TR6 Chronometric bracket, for those of you keeping score.

Got another box of parts from my brother. Flat rate shipping box from the USPS is $15. He got 50+lbs in it.

The part numbers are what I recorded 15 years ago when I took the bike apart. They sure come in handy now! Everything got bagged and tagged.

Rear axle. Sweet.

Any idea what this part is?

Complete clutch with fiber plates.

Image
Engine mounting bolts. Some stainless, some old.

Image
Does this part stick that far inside? Is there something else that bolts to this?

Now if I just has the rear iso bolt I could put the engine in! Held back by a $7.50 part.

Looks great!

"As they say the Commando is built around the battery tray"

That's probably true but based on some recent work I did, I would have said a Commando was built around the horn! :)

You didn't give any dimensions, and there are no clues in the photo to give an idea of its size , but it looks similar to the MkIII electric starter gear needle roller bearing inner race?
If that is in fact what it is, and I'm not sure about it, then I've no idea why the item would be found amongst a load of Combat parts, but perhaps you might?:

We have a MkIII parts bike so a mix of MkIII is entirely possible. Thanks.

Doesn't the horn hang from the battery tray?

Nortons, when they're right, they're righteous!
72 Commando Combat Roadster
Frame 149xxx,
Crankcase 210XXX
Gearbox 235xxx
and they all "match" up perfectly.
