69 BSA Project

Postby britbikemike » Wed Sep 21, 2011 5:43 pm

Picking this up this weekend. Its a 69 BSA that is in MAJOR need of attention. The price was kind of stupid low enough to get it just for the engine. The engine is free, so that is always a good thing. It may end up as a bobber or a cafe project for a later time. I think the BSA's look sweet as bobber projects, and I just can't bring my self to do it to Norton! lol

Traction is kind of like bowel control. Once you think you are going to lose it, it's probably too late!

Cost of the Engine , and the Engine is free ! Eyell take it ! :P  :D

Maybea 67 or earlier , First S.S ( spitfire Special A 65 ) had the single sided brakew , as did Goldies .
Not totally atrocious .Up to 80 m.p.h. :P In fact were getting 130+ downhill in the I.o.M. 8)

Would you let us know the begining of the Engine No .( Not No itself ) and if a letter at the end .

The BSAs are a pretty cool bike , nice and steady on the road , just a little weighty .

Just threw a few links on Ebay - for sale . A Hornet high pipe scrambler & a Spitfire , was also a ' Wasp ;.

Skiny teardrop tank ( 67 ? ) with big cut out knee grip area is rareist , pretty much like one 250 Tank .

Good touring bike , or footrest scraper . Specially with End Feed crank & needle Roller bearing mod .
Or a Commando Crank ! :D

http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0701756940 This one even .

Tripped the memory cells , a mate had a TR6P with identical ' mufflers ' but chromed ,
maybe U.S. Flat Track ones , as there was nowhere baffles . Dragged ex out on overrun
with a nice diesel sound , even on recoed egine , wisp off smoketrail on trailing throttle,
fairly quite at the revs he used . Like the seat hump on that one , cool exhaust system .

http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0719077320 MORE . :P

YOU want MORE . ! http://www.pigfarmerbikemagazines.co.uk ... ker_3.html
The one rule to the exception , is theres the exeption to each rule .
