Anyone used a Tricor Oil Filter Kit?

Postby interstateOz » Wed Jan 18, 2012 2:35 pm

Just wondering if anyone's used one of these Tricor/Trident oil filter setups on there Nortons? I am curious how it would compare to the regular spin on ones everyone uses?

I use one (or a similar Late Triumph style) on my Seeley racebike. It's plumbed on the return feed from the back of the motor, up over the head and down to the filter mounted on the front downtube, then returns back up over the head and to the tank. Works a charm, easy to change filters, etc. And it's low-profile so it fits between the tubes and doesn't foul my fairing. Just be sure to prime it first.

I put them on all the bikes I build, unless the customer wants a stock Commando setup.

If I could find one with Aeroquip fittings I would run it.

These should be available from a lot of racing stuff resellers.

This Tricor thingie looks like a mesh - I'd prefer a proper filter (actually in the feed not in the return but obviously this means quite some plumbing).

No, it is a paper insert filter with a mesh surround, same as used on a Trident
