The police here in Europe use radars and take a beautifull picture of your licence plate when you go over the speed limit and this happen very often to me
I prefer to spend my money for the Seeley, so if someone nows a trick to avoid the picture, feel free to tell us

I have heard of something that can be sprayed on the plate, trouble is, if caught they would come down on you like a ton of bricks.
I generally stick to country roads for fast motoring & keep a good lookout. Don't speed around towns & wait till I get outside of restrictive limits. I find most car drivers speed around 30mph limits about 40mph & can even slow down outside towns.
My hobby is to fustrate them by sticking to the town limits but letting go afterwards. They never keep up (well the odd boy racer might).

I got 'nicked' near Hasselt for 77kph in a 70 limit (that's about 48mph in a 44 zone). You don't have to be a speed freak to get caught like that.

A smear of ' Vaseline' can help here, as in so many situations. A slave flash trigger and a red filter is probably the only effective answer !

There is a device here in the USA that someone sells that makes the plate hard to read from high angles, but looks OK from straight on. Don't ask me about it, I wouldn't be caught dead with it. Here in VA, it is illegal to put anything and I mean anything even clear poly over the plate to keep the bugs off.

Other option is to move to Montana, Oz (AUS), northern Saskatchewan, or the Northern Territories where you can speed to your hearts desire. The cops are few and far between the far and few cities.

Call ludwig and ask what he does, he seems to be all over the Continent.

We had them here 6-7 years ago but the politicians banned them (they mostly drive Porches etc.) That was after spending a bundle of tax dollars on cameras, vans and training too. All the gear was sold to some state in the USA for pennies on the dollar. None of us tax payers complained though. When we had them I evaded them the 1st time by quickly signaling and cutting across 3 lanes and exiting on an access road that was just before the van. The camera was mounted in front of the van on the shoulder and pointing to the 3 lanes on a left angle so I guess I beat that one as the access road veered off to the right. The second time was late at night and when I saw the van I signaled and pulled over to the shoulder about 40 yards/meters before him. When the traffic light behind me changed again about 4 cars started out and when they went by me I signaled and got in the far left lane (another 3 lane situation) and I passed the bunch of cars so I remained out of view of his camera. I saw the cop get out of the van and run towards the camera either to point it at me and trigger it or to gather it up and come after me. I never did get one of their photos all the while they had them here. Talk to your politicians, stay on your toes.

I've always wanted one of the James Bond rotating plates. Make one with numbers close to what your actual plate is and keep it in position normally. If you get pulled over just hit the button and rotate to the correct plate. Problem solved for the camera shots.

I found that diplomatic plates worked a treat when I was in Sarajevo. I remember thinking that it was like having a license to steal!

I agree with SLOW DOWN! Short of that, I saw an add for a license plate mounting system that is suppose to "reduce drag" by allowing the plate to go horizontal at speed. Try crotchrocketnecessities.com. I think the opening page has it. This is the closest thing I have seen to James Bond.

It was Arizona or New Mexico, Can't remember but I did see them on the way to the Norton rally this last summer. I would say to do a little homework before you decide to open her up and drive the stretch just before doing your speeding. We use to drive the twisties before we rode them and this was back in the late 70's early 80's but this was mostly to check the highway conditions for dirt, sand or garbage. Nowadays those same stretches and corners are owned by a bunch of kids that seem to have a knack for killing themselves on a regular basis. And this has almost put an end to anyone riding them like we use to, This may be a good thing. I'm getting older and the bikes are getting faster, LOL. Or try going to track days.

Could ride a dirty, muddy bike that covers the plate for the camera shot?
